Thanksgiving

The week before Thanksgiving we hopped the boat back to the island. I left early with Cole, Eva, and the dogs so we could get in before dark.

We got on the tram as the sun was slowly starting to set. We quickly dropped our stuff and headed out for a walk. We were so happy to be there.

Later that evening the rest of the family arrived 🙂

Everything is better on the island. I wandered around looking at butterflies while Cole grabbed our packages at the post office.

Evening runs on the beach are a part of our routine for our spoiled dogs.

Tackling Eva’s hair is never easy. This time Austin took on the chore.

Eva loves having the older bros home. So do I 🙂

After I get the kids up and fed and settled with their school stuff I head to the porch for coffee.

Even the dogs love having him home. And some Apples to Apples game.

We wait for everyone to finish up so we can go play

Sandy noses always

We celebrated Andy’s 50th birthday- covid style

It was chill.

The gaming table

Even this dude was there- boss man

Days spent reading at the beach

And nights spent playing games

Always all kinds of creatures

Happy place 🙂

So tired.

We decided to head back to Chapel Hill for Thanksgiving to have a little bit more room, bigger kitchen, etc.

And then we were all back in the Thrill

I never ever get tired of them all being under the same roof.

Austin left the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I’m not gonna lie, it hit me way harder than I anticipated. I mean I am always sad but this time it felt like a punch in the gut.

Just goes to show your babies are always your babies

It never really gets easier.

But the house is getting decorated and life pushes forward. Back to normal routines this morning with the younger two going back to school, Andy going back to work, and me taking some online photography classes.

Happy Monday!
