Today when I went out to Starbucks it was 17 degrees. My windows would not go down, I had to open the door to order and then to get my coffee.
The dude in front of me had the same problem.
Yesterday Austin and I went out to get his girlfriend a (belated) xmas present. With sleeting rain hitting our faces we both looked at each other and said, “the south will be nice”.
And I should add that I talked him into getting her a dog stuffed animal from build a bear, and I told him to write his name on the heart before he put it in there. I know he thought it was lame but then the more he thought about it he agreed- I made him promise to tell her that he did it, but I know he won’t. He wanted to include an iTunes giftcard with it so we did.
So today when I dumped the house hunting pictures off of my small point and shoot, I had to pause and look at some pictures that were left over from our last beach trip.
Eva loved the faucet beside the pool, it was always hard to drag her away from it.
Austin still talks about how fun this beach trip was, it’s hard to believe he was so close to not going. I am so glad he did. Made it much more fun.
I love the beach
I feel warmer already
And more from the kids trip to Wilmington
I love these perfectly imperfect pictures
Sometimes when you get in a rut, with photography, blogging, or anything else- it is good to take it back to the basics.
Point and shoot camera and iphoto. I loaded these directly onto the blog, zero editing zero fuss. I didn’t even resize.
I have been thinking a lot about Project Life and how I fail at it every year. How can I make it more simple.
It only takes a quick look back on this blog to realize that there is so much that can be missed if I don’t get it down. And honestly looking at old pictures, thinking about our past- makes me a better mom. Reminds me of all the good that we have experienced.
And some days we all need those kinds of reminders.

I’m having a love affair with a cheap point and shoot too. It’s awesome. It makes me look younger and thinner too. I call it the fountain of youth camera and it is never leaving me side.
Is it wrong that when I see those first two pictures that all I can think is that I want to bite Eva’s belly?? It’s just so stinking cute!
