when I wish I was a home-schooling mom. Or even an un-schooling mom. Believe me, I have read lots and lots about both.
Back when I only had two kids, it was something I tossed around. I read every book by John Holt I could get my hands on. It was something that I really believed in, yet didn’t know if I personally had what it takes to make it work.
My mom is a retired teacher, so I know that some teachers really do care. We live in one of the best school districts in our state, yet still…. If I didn’t think my kids actually preferred to go to school, I would probably keep them home.
What I long for is the freedom. To live life around our own schedule, to experience different things and people. See family that we don’t get to see very often.
Because soon enough- jobs and life obligations will dictate what these kiddos can do. I want them to enjoy their youth. It only happens once and we all know how fast it goes.
One of the best parts about going to Orlando was hooking up with my Aunt Jo and my cousin J (with Cole on his shoulders)
My kids had sooo much fun with them. It was such a great day. I can’t even begin to tell you how great it was to have J there. He is such a natural with the kids and helped us so much.
The Magic Kingdom
Austin asked “do you think if we moved to Orlando people would come to see us?” which cracked me up. No one comes to visit us in Ohio except grandparents, we always have to go to them.
I think for sure we would get more visitors.
Who doesn’t love Florida?
This girly sure did!

Ok I will wrap it up tomorrow. It’s been a long gloomy rainy day and my head hurts. Missing the sunshine!!

I will never have much love for Florida, at least during basketball season.

Oh I loved Orlando when we went. The theme parks are so much fun and I too loved the ghost house. These pics make me wanna go back. Good times!

I’ve grown to have a fondness for homeschool…which is good since I do it. 🙂 One of the best parts is the freedom….the hardest part is the socialization. I am constantly on the go because kids need kids. I find myself tied down…just in a different way. Still it’s good for us right now.
I love the second picture. There is something about it that just feels magical!

So much fun!! What did Eva think of Mickey? 🙂
Several years ago, when I was reading your blog, but too shy to comment, I’m pretty sure we were at Disneyworld at the same time! I remember you blogging about how you were getting ready to go – just like us! I kept looking for a a cute girl with an Elisalou bag on her shoulder. 🙂
